How to choose your necklace length
A necklace length is a measurement, not a promise about where the pendant will sit. Neck size, posture and the neckline of your clothes all change the result. Measure the look you want before choosing a piece.
Start with a necklace you like
Lay an existing necklace flat and measure its full wearable length from the clasp to the point where it fastens. Check whether the product you are comparing lists chain length separately from pendant size. A longer pendant can hang lower even when two chains are the same length.
Try the measurement against your neckline
Use a soft measuring tape, or a piece of string measured against a ruler, to picture the chain length while wearing the kind of top you plan to pair it with. Hold it loosely in place. Look at where a pendant would fall against a crew neck, an open collar or a lower neckline.
Understand the extender
The Lucky Heart and the Pavé Heart each list a 40 cm chain with a 5 cm extender. That gives you adjustment within the chain’s available fastening points. It does not mean the necklace will look the same on every person.
If you want to layer the two, try different extender positions. Because their listed chain lengths are the same, they will not automatically create widely separated layers. Check the fit you want rather than assuming the bundle changes the chain lengths.
Check before you order
- Compare the chain measurement with a necklace you already own.
- Read the pendant dimensions separately.
- Check the extender and the product’s fastening details.
- Ask about anything that is unclear before ordering.
