How to layer necklaces with the same chain length

When two necklaces have the same chain length, start by fastening them at different extender positions. Then check the pendants against the neckline you plan to wear. Calvelle’s Lucky Heart and Pavé Heart each list a 40 cm chain and a 5 cm extender, so their available separation is limited.
Understand what the extender changes
An extender adjusts the chain’s total wearable length. It does not add the same number of centimetres to the vertical distance between pendants. The chain travels around your neck, and the pendant shape contributes to where the lowest point sits.
That is why a 5 cm difference in chain length should not be presented as a guaranteed 5 cm gap on the chest. Try the combination on, ideally with the clothing you intend to wear.
Start with one pendant, then add the other
Put on the necklace you want as the shorter layer. Add the second at a longer available fastening point. Look at whether you can see both designs clearly without one sitting directly over the other.
For the Calvelle Stack, try the Pavé Heart above the Lucky Heart, then reverse the order if you prefer it. This is a styling suggestion, not a fixed rule. The Lucky Heart’s open and folded arrangements also give different shapes to compare.
Use the neckline as part of the composition
A pendant resting on the edge of a collar may be harder to see than one clearly above or below it. Try the combination with a crew neck, an open shirt or the top you actually plan to wear. You may like the same necklaces at different settings with different clothing.
If the result looks crowded, wear one necklace on its own. A bundle gives you two pieces to choose from; it does not require wearing both at once.
Check comfort and movement
Turn your head and move normally while checking the fit. If the pendants repeatedly overlap or the chains catch, adjust the fastening positions or separate the pieces. No arrangement can promise that two fine chains will never tangle.
Do not force the chains apart by pulling on the pendants. Take them off and separate them gently. Store each necklace separately rather than dropping the layered set into one loose pile.
If you want a wider separation
Two necklaces with the same 40 cm base length may not produce the look you have in mind. Compare the written measurements before buying. If you are considering an additional extender, ask about compatibility rather than assuming a connector will fit.
The length guide is the starting point for measuring fit. For the differences between the two designs, read Lucky Heart versus Pavé Heart. For care after wearing them, follow the instructions for each necklace.
